Secondary Awards Night - Nominations are open

Meridan State College's annual Secondary Awards Night is a special event to celebrate student excellence and achievement on MSC's calendar. To make the Awards Night nomination process more efficient and accessible, Meridian State College will be introducing a new online application process for select awards. Students can self-nominate or fellow students, parents, teachers can apply on behalf of other students.

 

From this year onwards, online applications must be submitted for the following awards, the relevant criteria and applicable year levels:

Community Spirit AwardYrs 7-12Shown true commitment to our core values, the 4Cs Compassion, Courage, Collaboration and Courtesy. Participated fully in all aspects of school life. Shown high standards in behaviour. Supported Community Projects and been excellent role models for their peers.
College Director's Sponsorship Award Yrs 7-11This scholarship is designed to support a student's school fees for a student who has excelled in a particular endeavour and aspires to pursue their chosen field.

Secondary Principal's Community Contribution AwardYrs 10 & 12 onlyHas contributed to improving our school community and demonstrated compassion and empathy towards others through their action. Shows ongoing commitment to community service. Shows personal growth and learning through their community involvement. Brings new ideas and implement new ways to engage others. Selflessly steps in to support others to ensure the jobs are done and activities can go ahead.
Ampol Best All RounderYr 12 only

Academic – achieves scholastically across a range of subjects. Attitude – willing to help others; makes selfless contributions. Personal conduct – exemplary at all times

Leadership – a role model for other students. Service – participates in school and community activities. Sport – represents the school without necessarily being a champion

College Director's Award Igniting Minds, Empowering FuturesYr 12 onlyRecognised for their creativity, innovation and their readiness to thrive and engage with the real world. Connection to local and global communities.
Vocational Student of the YearYr 12 onlyConsistently submitting work to the highest standard on first attempt on deadline, meeting all employability and foundational skills including presentation skills, and addressing all skills and knowledge of all courses enrolled into (must be enrolled into and completed multiple courses)
Julie Kornmann Legacy AwardYr 12 onlyStudent who has left a legacy on the culture of Meridan State College and engaged with the wider community.
International International only Yrs 7-12This student has excelled academically, socially and has had enormous personal growth within the program and is an example of what our international students
Indigenous Indigenous only Yrs 7-12Participates to the highest standard as a Deadly Leader. Represented our college in numerous cultural and community events. Shows excellent effort and behaviour results and achieves to their best academic potential. Enacts the core values of our 4Cs

The online application process has been designed to:

  • simplify the application process for students and families;
  • ensure applications are received and tracked efficiently;
  • reduce paperwork and processing time; and
  • provide a consistent application experience for everyone.

 

The online application portal is open now via the link/QR code below. A PDF copy of the survey, including associated links, is attached to this email for applicants to work offline prior to submitting their application online. Please note all applications must be submitted via the application portal and no paper applications will be accepted. Applications must be submitted by 9am Monday 31 August 2026
