We take immense pride in our International High School Graduate Program, which boasts a strong track record of success. Our International students consistently progress to reputable universities in Queensland and beyond, thanks to our commitment to preparing them for future-oriented pathways and the workforce.
Guided by an experienced Senior Schooling team, we meticulously monitor the academic performance and well-being of our International students, ensuring they are well-equipped for their chosen fields of study. Our Graduate Program offers a diverse range of subjects tailored to meet the varied pathways of our International students.
Collaboration between the Senior Secondary and International teams ensures that our students receive comprehensive support and guidance throughout their final years of schooling.
We provide additional ESL (English as a Second Language) support and subject tutoring in English, Maths, Science, and Physical Education to further assist our graduate students.
Upon graduation, International students receive their QCE (Queensland Certificate of Education) and an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank), opening doors to pursue their desired areas of study at Australian universities or through vocational pathways.
Meridan State College consistently achieves exceptionally high rates of QCE attainment, with over 99% of our graduates successfully obtaining their QCE, reaffirming our commitment to academic excellence and student success.
The 2023 Meridan State College Year 12 cohort of 201 students chose a diverse range of post schooling options for their life beyond the classroom, with 37 students also completing a school based apprenticeship or traineeship whilst at school. 90 graduates preferred a University pathway, and 66 of these were accepted into their chosen University and course through early offer initiatives. 60% of students attending University after school, chose the University of the Sunshine Coast, UniSC, as their preferred institution. 38% of students chose a career in the health industry. 94.2% of our 2023 graduates are, in 2024, participating in further education or training.
In 2022, the Year 12 cohort of 229 students graduated with 225 Certificate II qualifications, and 118 Certificate III qualifications. 24 students also completed a traineeship or a school-based apprenticeship. In 2022, we hosted 4 students to complete the International Graduate Program, with all 4 successfully graduating with their QCE, and achieving 4 Certificate II courses and 1 Certificate III course.
We are very fortunate to partner with some of the most respected universities in Queensland and are only 20 minutes from the Sunshine Coast University, which offers a vast range of degrees for our International students to study.
