The Meridan Laptop Program (MLP) allows students to hire a laptop from the College for a fee. These laptops operate within the Queensland Department of Education's standard operating environment, providing students with access to the College network and approved educational software.
Students may take the laptop home for the duration of the hire period, allowing them to complete schoolwork both at school and at home.
Please note that MLP laptops are configured for general classroom use across the College. They are not suitable for specialist software required in some senior subjects. Students studying these subjects should use a personal device that meets the specifications outlined in the higher category of the Device Specification Sheet.
Before You Apply
Please ensure you understand the following before submitting your application:

✔ Laptop hire is subject to availability.

✔ Full payment is required before a laptop can be allocated.

✔ Please allow approximately one week for processing after your completed application and payment have been received. Processing times may be longer during peak periods.

✔ Students who require specialist software for senior subjects should use a personal device that meets the recommended specifications.

✔ Students are expected to comply with the College's ICT Acceptable Use Policy while using an MLP device.

Applications should be submitted using the online application form.

Once your application has been received, an invoice will be issued. Full payment must be received before a laptop can be allocated.
By submitting an application, you acknowledge that your child agrees to comply with the Meridan ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Acceptable Use Policy.
Collecting Your Laptop
Once your application has been processed and payment has been confirmed, the laptop will be prepared for collection.
Students can check Student Notices or the display screen at the IT Help Desk to see when their device is ready.
Program Fees
The hire fee is $450 per year (ProRated), payable in advance. The total amount payable is calculated at the time of application.
Please note:

Laptop numbers are limited.

The online application form will close once all available devices have been allocated.

A laptop cannot be guaranteed until:

the online application form has been submitted; and
-
full payment has been received by the Meridan Finance Team.

Repairs and Warranty
A $100 service fee applies to non-warranty repairs.
Deliberate or malicious damage will be charged at the full cost of repair or replacement.
