Year 12 Formal

The 2019 Year 12 College Formal is fast approaching and students are invited to participate in this extracurricular activity.  This year all Year 12 students were invited to join the formal committee.  This committee has been meeting on a regular basis and have made significant process on the planning of this event. 
  • The formal will be held at Sebel, Pelican Waters (38 Mahogany Drive, Pelican Waters, 4551)
  • The cost for the formal will be
    • $12.00 Canapés only
    • $117.00 for Formal (includes Canapés)

Parents/carers are invited to attend the canapés prior to the formal dinner, please see details below.

Arrivals may start from 4:15pm. Canapés will not be served until 4:45pm. A formal photographer will be set up ready to take family and friends photos in the Lorikeet Room.  Please leave enough time for arrival and formal photographs to avoid disappointment.


·         4.45pm – 6:15pm 

·         Please Note: Due to venue capacity limits, only a maximum of two adults are invited to attend this pre formal event with their young adult.  Because of this, we are encouraging both parents to attend, however if this isn’t possible, then submission of proposed attendees needs to be made in writing to the email address:

·         This is an alcohol free event


  • 6:15pm – 9:30pm  
  • Only current MSC Year 12 students may attend

·         This is an alcohol free event and all College behaviour expectations must be adhered to

  • Formal commences at 6:15pm (students only)
  • Formal concludes at 9:30pm

Year 12 students will be able to leave school earlier (time to be confirmed) on Tuesday 12 November 2019 to prepare for this event.


Attendance at such an extra-curricular event for Year 12 students is dependent upon a range of criteria being met.  A key staff member has been assigned to each of the criteria below and students will be asked to complete a checklist prior to paying for, and receiving, their formal ticket to attend the formal.

·         All assessment/work related tasks being met in full for all areas of study.

·         All outstanding unexplained absences being finalised, and all expectations for attendance consistently met.

·         All outstanding consequences finalised.

·         All outstanding resources (including laptops) returned by due dates.

·         All outstanding uniform loans to be returned.

·         All fees and payments are finalised.

·     Consistent and appropriate behaviour expectations must be met up to and including on the night of the event.


Once Students have obtained an invitation to purchase a ticket, they will need to show this invitation at the Finance Window at the Client Services building to purchase their tickets. 

  • Year 12 students are able to purchase formal and canapés tickets between Tuesday 8 October - Friday 18 October 2019.
  • Our Finance office is open between 8:00am -12:00pm, Monday – Friday.
  • Please note: The Formal will not be invoiced. 
  • Payments can only be made to the Finance window once the students have completed their checklist and have received their invitation from Ms Lehmann
