Bring Your Own Device (BYOx) Program

The College supports students wishing to use their own devices is known as the BYOx Program. This means that your child can connect their own device to our school network and be able to access software used by the department in classrooms. 

Important, not following the below advise will result in a less desirable learning outcome for your child;

Should your BYO be in for repairs, loan devices are available for $15.00 per week.​​​

Other notes:

  • ​Student wishing to enrol in an ITD subject should be aware that iPad's and Macbook's are not compatible with some of the Industry Standard software being taught at the college.
  • For students enrolling into the Industrial Graphics, Graphic design and Film and Television subjects it is highly recommended to use the higher end specifications listed to ensure the best compatibility and experience possible. 
  • On first use of a new laptop, the latest Windows operating system will force the creation of a Microsoft sign in account (you cannot use your school email address for this), please set this up before coming to the IT helpdesk to perform the on-boarding process. 


PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BELOW DEVICES , SOFTWARE AND OPERATING SYSTEMS WILL NOT WORK ON OUR NETWORK; 

Surface RT, Chromebook\ChromeOS, Android and ARM based processor technology.

Products that are known to DEFINITELY NOT be compatible are: 

  • Devices that have an Intel Atom or Intel Celeron Processor have processor limitations which will impact on the student's learning experience and software capabilities. 
  • macOS must be 11 (Big Sur) or later.
