Attendance at such an extra-curricular event for Year 12 students is dependent upon a range of criteria being met.  A key staff member has been assigned to each of the criteria below and students will be asked to complete a checklist prior to obtaining an invitation to attend the formal.
• All assessment/work related tasks being met in full for all areas of study (Mrs Shevelling).
• All outstanding unexplained absences being finalised, and all expectations for attendance consistently met (Mentor Teacher).
• All outstanding consequences finalised (Mentor Teacher).
• All outstanding resources returned by due dates (Mrs Downey).

• Consistent and appropriate behaviour expectations must be met, up to and including the night of the event.
Once the above criteria has been met, students can obtain an invitation to purchase a ticket from Mrs Cox in SL09. Students can obtain this invitation during the following times in Week 1, Term 4.

• Year 12 students are able to purchase formal and canapes tickets up until Friday 13 October 2017 at 12.00pm. The finance office is open between 8:00am-12.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Please note that security is being employed on the night, and that no departures from the venue will be allowed prior to 10:00pm.  Parents wishing their young adult to leave with people other than themselves should inform the College (in writing), detailing the private arrangements made.
We understand that as this is a special event, which may necessitate some deviations from uniform policy (eg: fingernail extensions), there may be some need to breach regular uniform requirements during the week of the formal. As such, there will be no penalty for fingernails, however, all other uniform requirements will be needed to be maintained.
Please be aware that when involved in activities there is an inherent risk of physical injuries occurring without any negligence on the part of the school and in such circumstances the responsibility for the injury and any associated costs will rest with you and not the school.  Parents are advised that the Department of Education, Training and Employment (DETE) does not have Personal Accident Insurance cover for students.  DETE has public liability cover for all approved school activities and provides compensation for students injured at school only when the Department is negligent.  If this is not the case, then all costs associated with the injury are the responsibility of the parent or carer. It is a personal decision for parents as to the type and level of private insurance they arrange to cover students for any accidental injury that may occur.
Please don’t hesitate to contact Ali Cox ( if you have any questions regarding our events or guidelines for attendance.  This is a very special time for our College - our Year 12 cohort have a special place in all our hearts, and we are sure all of our families will enjoy the celebrations for the completion of Year 12.
